Every Startup Dies 1000 Deaths

Every startup dies 1000 deaths.

I can remember countless times through my journey where we:
-Couldn’t make a payroll
-Almost ran out of money
-Didn’t get funded by the investor we thought loved us
-Didn’t land that critical customer
-Churned that huge contract
-Failed to launch a critical product
-Saw a rockstar employee leave

A startup’s journey is a series of existential moments that requires the entrepreneur to stare into the abyss, pivot, scramble, and make the impossible possible.

Sometimes, no matter what you do, the startup doesn’t make it.

But every successful startup that does make it goes through the same death-defying journey.

There is no easy path.

The good news is those who take the hard path–no matter the outcome–emerge with deep and rich insights into themselves that will make the next chapter even more rewarding.
